Starting Again…and Again!
Starting over and striving for a better life can be a daunting task. It can be even more frightening when you feel like you recently made changes you thought you wanted only to find out that it is not a good fit or does not align with your higher self. However, with conscious decisions and setting intentions, it is possible to achieve your goals and create a fulfilling life for yourself.
You may not have it right the first time, or the second or third! That is okay. It's important to take small steps every day towards your goals, no matter how insignificant they may seem. If you realize the path you've been taking is not right for you, then change your path. You are your own creator of the life you desire. By taking steps and making small changes to your routine, you will build momentum and eventually achieve the life you desire.
Waking up at the same time every day while doing to the same routine every day will create the same results every day. This can be a great once you feel like you have the life that you wish to live. If you are like many people out there--lost and in a rut--small changes are the key to breaking out of the mundane routine.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein
But why would you want to get out of your routine? It's so comfortable to just stay put.
The answer to that question can be found within. For me, I was in a rut, and I'm finally getting to the point where I am feeling aligned with my higher self, my truth, and my purpose. I have been at the same job for over 5 years with no opportunities for growth. I have looked for other opportunities that will align with what I want out of life, but if I am being honest, no corporate job is going to provide that for me. I crave independence and creativity. I want to share my experience and perception. I want to find and help others that feel the same. As an empath, I feel it all around me every day. I know that others know that the way life has evolved on Earth does not quite make sense anymore. So what can I do about it? I have skills that can make money for me to pay my bills. I have to do that, and I am accepting that as my current reality. I also have skills--and even more important, desire--to do something else. That is why I started this website and blog. It is so new and scary for me to put myself out there, but I know that it is where I need to be for now.
I had (and still have!) thoughts racing about putting myself out there for the world to read my thoughts. I thought of the faceless people from my past and memories who knew a version of myself that doesn't exist anymore. What would they think when they see ME trying to give experience and guidance to others on the internet?! I have to consciously remind myself that I cannot hold myself back from my potential because of past mistakes or versions of myself. You do not need to define yourself by other people's realities. You do not need to keep being a person you don't respect because that is what others expect of you. Keep being your true self--as many true selves that evolve in your life time. People that refuse to see the new version of you are not your audience. They are not your focus. They are not your tribe. Don't their influence (whether it is imaginary or real) change who you really want to be in this lifetime.
Of course I had other thoughts that made me not want to start this blog. What would my friends think? Or family? These are people that I see all of the time and love and who love me back. What if they don't like my authentic self? What if...? What if...? What if...?
I will probably write about this more when I get more established on my blog and have true experience to share about what will happen the more I put myself out there, but for now, I had to trust my intuition. I know that I have a higher purpose (everyone in the world does!). I felt like this was the right path for me to take to achieve my highest good--by helping others and starting a community where we can all share common goals for a better tomorrow.
So what can you do?
One way to start your journey towards a better life is to practice mindfulness and self-reflection. Take some time each day to meditate or journal about your thoughts, feelings, and goals. This will help you gain clarity and focus on what is truly important in your life. Trust what your thoughts want to write. I have been journaling for a while off and on since high school, but only within the last year did I started journaling on a very regular (almost daily) basis. Some days, I don't have much to write, but I write it anyway. Other days, I write for a couple of hours. There are other days where I don't write.
Remember that starting over and creating a better life for yourself is a process that takes time and effort. But with dedication and a positive attitude, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. It is important that if a path or decision you make doesn't make sense anymore--whether that is a recent decision you made yesterday or one that you have been chipping away at for years--it is never too late to start over again...and again.
